Merrill Bevan

Merrill Bevan started with Wood Stone in 1996 as an Intern. He joined the Wood Stone team full time in 1999. Merrill has a wide background at Wood Stone from building ovens, shipping and receiving, order entry, sales, designing and maintaining both Wood Stone websites and traveling to trade shows. Merrill is currently focused on the international sales marketing effort.

When asked what he likes the most about his job at Wood Stone, Merrill replied, 'Spontaneity. You never know where the next phone call or e-mail will take you.'

Prior to arriving at Wood Stone, Merrill attended Whitman College, American University and Nankai University (Tianjin, China) where he studied Asian Studies, International Relations and Chinese. During that time he also spent two consecutive summers with Wood Stone doing business management internships.

'What really impressed me was the time I spent in sales and marketing learning about the complex channels of distribution in the foodservice industry. Understanding how to work and build relationships with consultants, dealers, representatives and end-users alike fascinated me.'

Hobbies: When not at Wood Stone or overseas on a related business venture, Merrill can be found playing tennis or golf - or perhaps reading a history book. Another interesting fact is that Merrill was home schooled up until the 10^th grade.
