Probably the most common question asked about Wood Stone
charbroilers and rotisseries is, "why are they more expensive
then all the other brands?" The short answer is simple:
because they are better. At Wood Stone, we build all
our charbroilers and rotisseries with three people in mind: the
Chef, the Diner, and the Restaurateur.

All of our charbroilers and
rotisseries have been designed at the request, and to the
specifications of chefs. The rotisseries are designed so
that the grease doesn't drip onto the fire and cause bitter,
acrid smoke to bathe the food; this allows the subtle flavors of
your fuelwood of choice to standout. Unlike all other
rotisseries, the Wood Stone rotisserie puts the show right up
front; the customer can see the mouthwatering food gently
rotating through the wall of flame. It's no mystery what
that will do for your sales.

The Better Way
Wood Stone's massive, high-temperature ceramic firebox stores
and radiates the heat of the fire. Wood Stone rotisseries
and charbroilers have no fire support grates or ash dropouts
which allow excess air to get to the fire and which cost the
operator thousands of dollars per year in excess fuel expenses.
In the Wood Stone firebox, the fire takes only as much air as it
needs to burn efficiently. The design of our firebox also
allows easy fire management and ash cleanout, without drawers
and grates that continually need replacement.
Whether you decide on the
deep or the shallow box design is mostly a matter of personal
preference. Both designs contain a large enough ceramic
thermal mass to insure even grill temperatures. The deep
box design will burn a bit more fuel than the shallow box
design, but it will accommodate larger logs.
Wood or Gas?
Can you get wood-fired flavor from a gas-fired
rotisserie or charbroiler? No, but sometimes that's not
the point. Our gas-fired rotisseries provide the same show
display as our wood-fired models, while eliminating the
challenges of using wood as a fuel source. Granted, if
you're up to the challenge, there's no better way than a wood
fire to get that subtle smoked flavor in your chickens, roast
and ribs, however, cold-smoked meat on a gas-fired rotisserie
runs a close second. Whatever you choose, make sure you
make Wood Stone your partner.

Accessories and Tools
Clamshell Basket Spits:
Wood Stone offers
several variations of basket spits capable of holding just
about anything that you might want to spin on a
rotisserie. Our adjustable clamshell basket
is capable of holding a very large rib
roast, or can be adjusted to hold several sides of salmon. Our 3
and 4 arm rib baskets are easy to load
and unload, and allow the roasting of up to 8 full racks of ribs
per spit.
Fish
Screens: These heavy-gauge stainless
steel screens increase the utility of the basket spits by
stabilizing small or delicate items within the basket.
10 Spit Locations:
The Mt. Olympus can be
ordered with 10 spit locations, as opposed to the
standard six spit model.
Extended, Thermal Flywheel
Firebox/Charbroiler: The Mt. Olympus is most commonly
ordered with an extended firebox
equipped with a 7-square foot charbroiler constructed of
heavy-duty cast iron grates.
This option more than doubles the utility of the
rotisserie. Furthermore, the firebox can be
of a deep or shallow configuration; this should be
specified at time of order.
S/S Ash Dolly: Wood Stone's double
compartment locking ash dolly provides a means for safe,
clean ash storage and disposal.
S/S Wood Storage Cart: Extra wood
storage carts can be shipped with the rotisserie. Two carts
will fit under the unit.
Moisture Meter: Wood Stones Mini Ligno
E instantly measures the moisture content of any wood.
Exhaust
Hood: See exhaust hood section for specification details.
