BTC Welding Rodeo 2006
A Weekend of Welding Fun!
Once again the Wood Stone welders gathered for a weekend of fun. Creativity, talent and team work once again resulted in a wonderful sculpture. This year the team competed on May 20th in the 5th annual Bellingham Technical College's Welding Rodeo (BTC).
All sculptures this year were created from a scrap pile of metal using a "water" theme. The teams were required to finish in eight hours. Wood Stone's sculpture, "Neptune" had a long wiry beard and trident in hand. It was a fun challenge for the Wood Stone team.
At Wood Stone's first welding rodeo in 2004, the team took first place with their Ski to Sea sculpture and in 2005 the musically inspired, 'Me and Julio' took the people's choice award.
Wood Stone also sponsored a fundraiser by the BTC culinary arts chef's club at the rodeo.
