On Friday, October 26, 2012 Wood Stone Employees will celebrate our new Engineering offices, located upstairs from our existing main office area, in customary Wood Stone style – with pizza and beverages!
Wood Stone moved into our current space at 1801 W. Bakerview Rd, Bellingham, WA in 2000 – and for most of our tenure, we have leased out the office space upstairs, with hopes that eventually Wood Stone would grow enough to occupy the space. That day has come! With our expansion delayed due to economic events in the world, the burgeoning need of space for much-needed engineering resources has now resulted in a newly remodeled upstairs space.
The new space brings together our accumulated engineering talent (previously located wherever they could be accommodated in random cubbies and less-than-ideal workspaces) and much like our downstairs open office design, encourages collaboration and information-sharing. Freshly painted walls, multi-colored carpet tiles and natural earth-tone finishes brighten the space and echo the color scheme downstairs. Each spacious workstation includes dual adjustable monitors, adjustable keyboard trays, comfy chairs and roll-around file units that double as visitor seats. In addition, the new multi-use Cascade conference room can be configured for Peace Talks, classes, meetings or parties. It will be equipped with an amazing Interactive projector! …and whiteboards everywhere! Creativity is encouraged here. Even our visitors to Wood Stone have a floating office they can use as their office away from home.
Looking at our expansion of products, expansion of production and engineering, and our expansion of our customer base, we look forward to seeing what new adventures in manufacturing stone hearth and specialty cooking equipment await Wood Stone! Let the celebration begin! Pizza, anyone?
